Goodness, you might say, what happened to welcoming the New Year? My answer – a New Decade calls for a greater amount of mental preparation and planning – mental fitness, as well as resilience.
We face trying times as a planet, never mind as a country. Two options are open to us at such times – to turn our backs and shrug off all responsibility, or to face the challenges as they arrive; embracing the change that is necessary for us to triumph. In the age we live in, courage seems a slightly old-fashioned virtue. Courage requires you to acknowledge the risks and perils, your own weakness or inability, yet to persevere despite everything against you.
Raising a child, being a father, requires large dollops of courage, blind faith and nerves of steel. It was Barack Obama who said “Any fool can have a child. That doesn’t make you a father. It’s the courage to raise a child that makes you a father”. As a second-hand observer of fatherhood, that seems absolutely true!

Where do blankets come from? Who made the first blanket? I found myself asking these questions when I was taking out blankets for the approaching winter. I found the following:

Colour means everything to us, although most of our products at Linen Drawer are white! This sounds like a classic contradiction – but we provide products to the décor, hospitality and private sector and these clients are governed by colour choices. We also have many products that support our bed linen which are variously hued; like towels, Horizon throws, blankets, and tabling.
In order to identify and chose the next colours of the products we wish to introduce, we need to analyse colour trends very carefully and choose a colour palette to carry us into the next year, as well as choose colours that match with our existing ranges. Easy? Not really, when there are so many influences and choices to be made.
